Bad Blog Reader! Bad!!!

Yes, I have become a bad blog reader. All of the time each evening that I used to devote to visiting other blogs to learn about the triumphs, accomplishments, disppointments and everyday meanderings of other people has recently gone to...Facebook. Must...stop...

I'm sure it's only temporary. All of the excitement and flash of being back in touch with old friends and connecting with new ones, along with the ability to instant message with, say, someone I went to high school with in another country more than 20 years ago, will hopefully tone down a bit soon. I'll learn moderation and the ability to multi-task. But seriously, Facebook is kind of like being in a big room with a whole bunch of your friends talking to you and to each other, whether they know each other or not. It's somehow comforting and enjoyable just to know they're there and to know the humdrum details of their everyday lives. "Jane Doe...is eating soup." Really? Is this interesting to me? Not exactly, but it's kind of nice to know that other people do the same boring things I do. I'm anti-telephone and hate to talk on the phone for more than a couple of minutes at a time. It feels like I'm obligated to say something and to listen at that very moment. I'd rather say something and choose to listen when I want to. Call me selfish. :-)

Oh, and at the top of this post I just dropped in a photo of Samantha that I took yesterday. Did I already mention how much I love my new camera?

LOL I was sucked in when I first started it too. Now I'm back to blogland. LOL. I actually have been meaning to do a facebook post on my blog too.

And that is an adorable pic of Samantha! I think you have the same camera as me? Love it!

I'm the same way! I've only been on Facebook for a little while and it has been so much fun connecting with people from my past and meeting new friends. I have to set the timer on myself or I get lost in it and then I'm mad at myself.

P.S. I'm glad I'm not the only person that doesn't like to talk on the phone. : )

I hate phones too - we could start a phone phobia facebook group ;).
Yep - its definitely cool to chat to people especially the ones that had such a big role in our growing up and shaping who we are today. Thanks for being there then and now! I'm sure with a little time management you can do both.

Facebook is fun. I admit that I have been sucked in by my family and the fact that I have found old friends that I grew up with. BTW, Samantha is a pretty girl and I'm sure fun to take pictures of. Samantha's coloring and facial features remind me so much of John - if they didn't live so far apart!

Your daughter is so precious. I enjoyed your blog about her standing up for herself and being "aggressive." I kinda know how you feel. You don't want her to think violence is the answer but at the same time there's a bit of relief knowing she can stand up for herself. My daughter is a sassy little one. She's only 16 months old! LOL.
