Day 6: Counting the Days

My labor of love, the Down Syndrome Association of Northern Virginia (DSANV) calendar for 2013 is all set to debut at our local Buddy Walk on the 20th.  After about 8 months of planning, organizing, procrastinating, begging, pulling my hair out and wondering why, oh why, my e-mails to people always seem to end up in that bottomless pit of despair, aka spam, I've finally gotten the proof back from the printer, ready for my markup, file revisions and, ultimately, my sealed-with-a-kiss stamp of final approval.

5 years into the odyssey that is the calendar, I still spend the bulk of the 8 months convinced that it's going to be horrible, that I've burned all of my bridges and called in the last of my favors with the photographers, that there's no way, no how I can do it another year...

And once that proof, still warm from the press, is placed into my waiting hands by the printer...I melt.  I seriously, honestly, transform into a pathetic, rapidly-expanding puddle of liquid joy, and all of the uncertainties and frustrations fall away.  Sure, there are changes that need to be made, errors to correct, but they're almost always minute

But I'm still unsure about what to do next year...

And until then, here's a sneak peek (recognize anyone?)...

You've done such wonder! I still remember when Ethan was about seven months old when he had his pictures taken for the calendar...an awesome experience! Amazing little angels :~)
