Samantha is in her jammies, sitting with her daddy on the couch, cuddling her tattered pink blankie, Caillou on the television in the background. I am sitting in the armchair next to the couch.
Me: Sammi, come sit with mommy!
Samantha (playfully): No!
Me (whining): Oh, please? I’m going to cry!
Samantha (making absolutely no move to join me): Mommy is sad.
Me: Can you bring Pooh Bear over to give me a hug, then?
Sammi climbs off the couch and picks up her giant, stuffed Winnie the Pooh who is sitting by the fireplace. Bringing him to me, she plops him down in my lap, tossing her beloved blanket to me as well.
Samantha: Blankie!
Me: Why, thank you! Now I’m so happy!
Samantha (standing back and beaming): Mommy happy!
She then proceeds to grab the blanket back from me, climbing back onto the couch with daddy. She puts her head down on his shoulder, cuddling the blankie.
Me (pretending to cry): Oh, no! You took my blankie!
Sammi suddenly looks up from daddy’s shoulder, surprised and indignant.
Samantha: It’s MINE!
It was definitely one of those ROTFL moments for us.

So awesome!
Abby likes to play a game called "happy and sad" which basically involves her directing me to be either happy or sad. I guess it's part of development. At least Sammi wants you to be a LITTLE happy... :o)
Ha, so cute! My son is growing an attachment to my husband and I think he is really enjoying it as my daughter was more attached to me.
Very cute! Wesley told me this morning that he was going to give his lovey bear to the new baby when he is born. Within a minute he said, "I think I am going to keep my bear." At least Wesley and Samantha are thinking about sharing but some things are too hard to part with.
awwww I love it!!! She is so cute too! One of my sons always prefered daddy over me!!! But his twin brother was (and still is) a mama's boy!
heheheh! love it the dialogue writings you do. love that sammi gurl.
